A stinker! Comedy isn't easy and it takes guts to get up on stage but this was terrible from start to finish.
The opening act was terrible, and Louie himself was brutal. Who are writing these reviews? Louie himself? We left early. We just couldn't listen to anymore.
I can honestly say we didn't laugh once. We laughed our faces off. Tom Rhodes was the headliner. Great show. Save your money and your time. Avoid going to see Louie. This is time and money I'll never get back. I challenge The Plaza to give us a refund.
One of the greatest stand ups of all time! My husband and I have been going to Vegas a few times a year for the past 10 years. We were reading through one of the Vegas magazines and my husband suggested Louie Anderson, then he said "butter" I can't believe that I've been to Vegas so many times and missed this show!
Carson was right, this guy is downright funny. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. I'm in my mids, and Louie brought me back to all the things that were funny in the 80s, while mixing in all the humor of Vegas. He doesn't curse in his show; I once saw an interview where he said that just wasn't him. But OMG was it funny! He talks about his family, particularly his mom, and the way he tells the stories are hilarious.
Next time I'm in Vegas, I'll go back - he was really that good. He's at Palace Station, a hotel that's off strip, but the showroom is nice and intimate.
As a side note, gambling at Palace Station is a good time. Sarah S Austin, TX 14 contributions. Anyone else saying the same thing would not be funny Louie Anderson is one-of-a-kind. I, too, laughed until I was crying at a couple of points. He weaves ad lib comments and jokes in with his dialog with audience members that are spontaneous, funny but never crude or vulgar. I hope after his show ends in August at Excalibur, that he will put his health first.
We want many more years of Louie!! Went to show recently. Place was maybe half full if that and most of audience was older crowd. Opening act was terrible and had my doubts if it was waste of time coming to show but Louie saved it.
Started off a bit slow but ended up being a great show and worth seeing. Still pretty funny guy and very quick witted stuff he comes up with just interacting with some audience members. We were laughing the entire time and thoroughly enjoyed this funny funny treasure of a man. Keep up the great work Louie!!! One of the problems with this venue is that you constantly hear noise and music from the casino. For such a small room with such a large sound system, it's odd that the comedians are so hard to hear.
The opening comic was amateurish, like listening to a distant cousin trying to be funny at a family dinner you really don't want to be at. While there were some random sparks of a veteran comedian during Louie's set, there weren't enough to justify spending your time on this one The show was harmless enough, but there was no "pop" in the material.
I was greeted by the "Director of Services," who would be showing me my possible new home. Wow, a "Director of Services. Before heading up to the unit we strolled through the lobby, which included two sitting areas, enough magazines to open your own newsstand, a billiards table and a cappuccino machine.
I thought, forget a room, I'll just live in the lobby. I secretly wondered how long I could actually do that before security would finally get wise. CityCenter is a acre resort that doubles as a hotel and residence.

Went to theater to pick up tickets and they referred us to Lobby booth. Lobby booth was unattended and people at casino said someone should be there shortly. Waited 20 minutes an nobody. Asked again and no help. Finally after asking several people got sent to casino gift shop to get tickets. Had no time now to eat because of the wait and search. If the Plaza Casino wants me back things really need to get better. Show was good but was not worth the top price paid.
Not sure why I expected better from Louie but I did. Opening comedian was horrible. Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 by robinl53 from Louie was great!! Louie is as great as he ever was. Really enjoyed his comedy ahow Louie Anderson was really great, I laughed until I cried! Rated 4 out of 5 by vblake42 from Louie up front and personal My seat as directly in front of the stage so Louie was right in front of me and we could see each other easily.
I truly enjoyed his art of the performance and he is very enjoyable I did not care for his opening act. The comedian was going to be performing in the theater the next week.
